Scroll like a Boss
It’s the last of this week’s comic updates!
Lois Lane (40’s/Fleischer cartoon outfit), Bizarro, Braniac, General Zod, Storm (with the mohawk) and Atomic Runner/Chelnov (25th anniversary!)  have been added the custom sprite galleries and the GFX Generators. There’s a bit more in the site’s news post, but that’s most of it.
If you missed the earlier updates with things like the Iron Man MUGEN stage, new scratch-made sprites of Splinter, Shredder, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and more, check out site news posts 1, 2, 3 for the info.

Back in 2002, someone (I think it was GhoulyMaximoff) wanted a more powerful version of Doom to be in M.U.G.E.N. and asked if I could come up with some ideas & sprites. This is the only good idea I contributed to it. I thought it’d make for a cool “teleport” move and intro. I just did the funky lighting effect and a bit of cape movement. These were sent to programmer Juan Carlos (R.I.P.) to use in his Doctor Doom character.
Doom isn’t really teleporting here. The idea was that he put miniature version of his Time Platform into his armor and it’s powerful enough for him to shift in time a bit and attack people. The plan was to have a small Time Platform square move across Doom as he vanished or reappeared, but I wasn’t good enough to figure out a non-crappy way of doing that. The good doctor actually did something like this in one of the best slept-on Fantastic Four stories ever. Read about it at Bully’s fun comic blog in this link or, even better, track the issues down (#350 and #352) and read that Walt Simonson-made goodness for yourself.

Small update: Static (with old-school outfit and logo) and Edgar from Sega’s Quartet were added to the DC and Sega Custom Sprite galleries and the Graphic Generators.

New screenshot generator!

Details are in the site’s news post. I’ll just mention that some of the boss intro screens still have a few problems, but I tried to make up for it by putting in edited spries, including some that have a running theme of characters with names that end with “man.” I’ll add more Mega-stuff to this if people like how this turned out.

The new generator can be found here.

I hadn’t added anything to my dA account since February. Whoops. Fixing that now.

BTW: do you know what happens when you beat the Queen of the Oasis at Janken in the Japanese version?
