Scroll like a Boss
It’s the last of this week’s comic updates!
Lois Lane (40’s/Fleischer cartoon outfit), Bizarro, Braniac, General Zod, Storm (with the mohawk) and Atomic Runner/Chelnov (25th anniversary!)  have been added the custom sprite galleries and the GFX Generators. There’s a bit more in the site’s news post, but that’s most of it.
If you missed the earlier updates with things like the Iron Man MUGEN stage, new scratch-made sprites of Splinter, Shredder, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and more, check out site news posts 1, 2, 3 for the info.

GFX Generator upgrade: Palettes are now picked on a new third menu screen where you get previews of how they’d look. The sprite choice section on the second menu screen looks a lot less clusterfudged now.

The GroupShot generator now has “Comics 88x136 pixels” to make a mini comic book cover with a mini-logo. Yes, that’s a mock-up for paper ShiftyLook comics so you can make Namco comics. You’ll see more page styles. It’s a tight fit for 3 characters, but it does work in a few cases. I’ll add more cover styles in later updates if people let me know that they like these. Some of the new team mini-logos were made just for this, though the current doesn’t support enough for a Fantastic Four pic.

Just messing around with stuff for a small site update.

Small update: Static (with old-school outfit and logo) and Edgar from Sega’s Quartet were added to the DC and Sega Custom Sprite galleries and the Graphic Generators.

The Graphic Generators, pages that let you make your own fake screenshots, got a little update.

GroupShot Maker and Vs. Maker: New sprites include Linda from Double Dragon (DD1 arcade, DD1 NES and DD2 arcade looks + DD2 palettes), Radd Spencer in his NES look, Abobo and Williams in their DD2 looks (with DD2 palettes added). New palettes were added to Marian (her various hair and outfit color combos) and the Double Dragons (Doppelganger/Shadow from DD2).

Fake Screenshot: More Mega Man NES-style sprite edits were added to the those generators. The Custom sprite gallery finally has a page for all those hastily made Mega Man edits, too.

Mini-update: Mega Man NES-style sprites added to the Fake Screenshot Generator:
Comics: Hourman, Spider-Woman, Starman

The last ScrollBoss site update of 2012 is a tribute to 1987 includes new scratch-made sprites from the old Kid Icarus (finally!), some doctors from Mega Man, Joe Musashi in his original outfit, the original Bionic Commando, Wonder Momo, and quite a few new and/or improved shots at Double Dragon characters, including Marian and Abobo.

I also added some resized Mega Man sprites, an old Elecman edit (Mega Man MvsC base, of course) and this “Mega Man - The Power Battles” to the Graphic Generators.

1987 games were getting tributes all year on the site. Check out Halloween updates 1 & 2 for a lot of Castlevania sprites and the site’s 12th anniversary for Samus, Lance & Bill sprites along with some earlier Shinobi and Double Dragon sprites.

Small update to the GFX Screenshot Generators: Flashgal’s sprite was improved and now has sword and gun poses, Centipede now has extra palettes, Mario’s in-game Mario Bros. palette was added and some X-Men characters have more sprites now. More details are in the news post found here.
Side-note: I’m pretty sure Flashgal eventually sends Centipede to the Hell of Being Cut to Pieces for licking the back of her head. That’s what you get for being creepy.

Just testing out the new Pooka palettes. That pink one is based on the Atari 2600 port.

More Castlevania sprites! These new Simon Belmont, Dracula, CV1-style Zombie and CV1 Skeleton sprites were added to the Konami gallery and fake screenshot generators. I made a lot of improvements to the Ricther sprites thanks to feedback on the PCS message board. The skeletons have a few more palettes in the generators and you can apply them to the regular, shiny and drippy version of that sprite. The Dracula-X (SNES) font was added to the generator modes that use fonts. Kinda small for big screens like this, but nice for the 100x100 avatar in the GroupShot mode. Anyone who missed the update this weekend should check out the other new stuff.
Have a Happy Halloween!
